Proposal Ideas
March 30, 2010
You’re in love and now have a greater understanding of what cut, colour, clarity and carat weight means when it comes to diamonds. Now that you have finished agonizing over the ring and have it in your hand, the subsequent panic fit comes along and now you start to stress about how you are going to propose.
The first concept that pops into your head probably goes along the lines of, I like you, you adore me so why don’t we get married, and then you give your sweetheart her ring.
If both of you actually love each other the answer will probably still be yes but women dream of that perfect marriage proposal so you need to think about what your fiancé would love. Get out the dictionary and look up the word romantic, yes a marriage proposal must be romantic and unusual. This is a moment that you will not be in a position to include in your wedding video to be played time after time and it must be something that’ll be etched in your fiancé’s mind for evermore. Apart from the actual wedding ceremony when you both say ‘I do’, this will likely be the most romantic day of your relationship so far and you need to make it as special as possible.
There are some wonderful stories about the huge lengths that some men have gone to when proposing and although the budget may not stretch that far in some cases ; these can give you some inspiration to help be creative. Before settling on any particular concept it is vital that you think about your fiancés personal choices. Proposing in the middle of Time Square with ‘will you marry me’ flashing on every poster advertisement while you kneel down, could be the most romantic concept for some women ; some like a more intimate environment.
Here are just a few ideas that will hopefully get you on the path to making that special moment for the one that you love.
If you are both art lovers and visit studios regularly then try to ask your favorite gallery owner to help out. Make a customised wedding proposal message, have it framed and when you next visit ensure that it is displayed for all to see. This is certain to get you a big yes.
One of the most romantic settings to pop the big question is while having a picnic somewhere that you have prepared, that somewhere always helps if it is floating above the earth in a hot air balloon.
If your budget allows you could get a farmer to cut your proposal message in their field and as you float over in the balloon you can point down and pop the question. That is a memory that both of your will treasure for your entire lives.
Even though the majority of these do call for a tiny bit of cost, the memories will last for all eternity. One final proposal tip that always wins the day, ( if you can remember where ) is to propose in the 1st restaurant that you went out on a date. Talk with the owner ahead and they will be very happy to give you a secluded corner with the lights dimmed.
When proposing always remember that although the ring is a requirement, the way that you go about proposing will make you bigger points than the size or cost of the diamond. After all marriages and engagements are all about love and love. Just be sure to be as romantic as possible as this moment will never be caught by your wedding videographer and you need to make it as memorable as possible.
No Need To Freak Out Planning For Your Wedding Day
March 30, 2010
Are you stressed out because the big day is getting closer and you haven’t got things ready? Are there many ‘to do’ items’ in ‘my wedding plans’ file? If yes, it means you need to put more work into the organization part. It’s not too late to trust a wedding planner with the event management. Just explain what you want to achieve and a wedding coordinator will do his/her best to put everything into practice. No more stress or sleepless nights when you have everything sorted out professionally.
A planner knows which is the right sequence of events and can start handling things when the time is right. Stop worrying that ‘my wedding plans will go to pieces’ because a pro has gone through the same preparatory stages dozens if not hundreds of times. There are many issues that the event planner can help you with, but most important, she/he will put order in how you handle the event and establish a firm time line to be followed.
Your wedding budget can be a lot more realistic when you know exactly how much you are going to pay for each service, and when the best prices are negotiated on your behalf. Write down a list in ‘my wedding plans’ with all the payments due to vendors, but only after making sure that you have got the best discount possible. The menu is usually selected together with the caterer’s representative so that you may be able to discuss any special diets and foods. Planning the wedding professionally, means that you will get the best quality for your budget, without inconveniences.
Where to order the wedding cake, the flowers, the table lines and the favors? Such components that you’ll always put into ‘my wedding plans’ ask for time and cause disputes over details. These components require careful coordination, and from one end to another you can rely on professional assistance. Remember that for someone who organizes events for a living, taking care of wedding tasks is like a second nature.
Also, an event planner can assist you with the bridal speeches. Most brides aren’t professional speakers. This is why it is so important to get help with this factor alone making a world of difference in how your bride wedding speech goes over. The wedding planner can often direct you to resources that are focused on helping write and deliver your bridal speech.
Finally, if you aim at organizing a special event, you should follow some customization requirements according to ‘my wedding plans’. And this is more than just color matching, as it usually reflects in the thank you gifts, the table decorations and the choice of music.
What is the best and most efficient online Wedding planning program? How do i know that this course is better?
March 29, 2010
I’m comparing between 3 online programs:
1. Sheffield School Wedding & Event Planning course
2. The Institute of Professional Wedding Planners
3. Association of Bridal Consultants program
Please help on which one to choose and explain why this would be the best program to choose.
There are no "efficient" online courses for wedding planning.
The entire idea is a farce for romantic girls who are poorly advised. Very few people can make a living in this field.
Consider a course in Welding instead.
Do you think the decorations at a wedding could subconsciously affect your marriage?
March 29, 2010
I know people like flowers, music and stuff at their wedding but could the decorations and music show what kind of marriage it will be? An example would be my brother’s wedding. It has heavy metal music, rap, and their rings are silver with a spinning band with black streaks. They fight all the time. Do you think this is a possibility?
I think people are to concerned about impressing everyone with there weddings. When the most imprtant thing is the marriage. If everyone worked as hard as they do on there marriage as they do on there weddings there wouldn’t be so much divorce.
What are some memorable/silly/fun wedding venue ideas?
March 29, 2010
I am planning a small wedding ceremony (about 50 people) and I am trying to figure out a ceremony location that would be memorable and silly and fun. Anyone have any ideas? I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area, so if you know of a specific place, that would be great too. Thanks.
We have even considered doing it in a bounce house.
Im in the same boat too
I just posted the same question. My mom emailed me today with information that our local zoo does weddings. Check your local zoo or even theme park to see if they can make arrangements for weddings.
Donations to charities as wedding favors?
March 29, 2010
Has anyone donated to a charity as wedding favors or know more about this? I am contemplating which Charity to do this for and also need to get the table tents to place on guests table ..
Hmm..truly I’ve never heard about anyone doing that, but it sounds like a great idea to me. I’d be more than happy to donate to a charity in a newly married couple’s name instead of trying to decide what to give them! Great idea! Hope it all works out for you.
Where to try on wedding dresses in London?
March 29, 2010
I’d like to treat my best friend to an afternoon of trying on wedding dresses and perhaps a glass of champagne or two! Can anyone recommend somewhere?
Don’t go to Pronovias in Bond Street, the Assistants are staggeringly snooty (they looked down their noses at my £2500 budget!). Ditto Berketex, where they will do and say anything to make a quick sale.
The Bridal Room in The House of Fraser on Oxford Street is great. You might want to go to Caroline Castigliano’s in Knightsbridge or JS Couture or Jenny Packham all of whom are good, but don’t try to do more than three in one day because it’s surprisingly tiring.
Have fun!
